Safety Tips for Women Motorists

Being pulled over by a police officer can be as stressful for the officer as it is for the women motorist. Although the majority of people are law-abiding citizens, a police officer must still be overly cautious during all traffic stops. Here are a few tips to follow when being stopped by the police.

1. Pull off the road as far to the right as safely possible.

2. Stay in your vehicle unless asked to get out.

3. Turn on the interior light if the stop occurs at night.

4. Keep both hands on the steering wheel and do not make sudden movements.

5. If you are carrying a firearm, advise the officer of the weapon and its location.

6. Advise the officer if you need to reach for your license or registration.

7. If you are being stopped at night and you are driving alone, simply acknowledge the officer by turning on your flashers and driving at a reduced rate of speed to the nearest well lit area.

Following these simple tips will make traffic stop less stressful for everyone involved.

Golden Rules for Coffee Making

Rule 1
Coffee should be as hot as possible when served; therefore, it is good practice to warm the coffee pot. When serving espresso or an espresso-based drink, the cups should also be warmed.

Rule 2
With the exception of Arabic coffee, no coffee should be made with boiling water as it scorches very easily, producing a bitter flavour. Either boil the kettle and let it stand for about 30 seconds to go off the boil, or try to switch off the kettle just before it bubbles. The benefit of electric coffee makers is that it will heat the water to optimum temperature for coffee, without the boil.

Rule 3
Coffee should never be reheated. Although it will still be drinkable after reheating, bear in mind that the flavour changes dramatically. Coffee will keep hot in a better condition if placed in a warmed vacuum flask.

Rule 4
The true coffee connoisseurs or the coffee purists are adamant that filtered or bottled water should be used for the best cup of coffee, instead of tap water.

Rule 5
The most important part of brewing the perfect cup of coffee is to use the correct amount of coffee. A good rule of thumb is to use to 2 level teaspoons of ground coffee for each 6 fl oz. (3/4 cup). However, the best is to follow the manufacturers’ directions.

To Teacher, With Love

It was the end of the school year, and a kindergarten teacher was receiving gifts from her pupils.
The florist's son handed her a gift. She shook it, held it overhead, and said, "I bet I know what it is. Flowers." "That's right!" the boy said, "But, how did you know?" "Oh, just a wild guess," she said.

The next pupil was the sweet shop owner's daughter. The teacher held her gift overhead, shook it, and said, "I bet I can guess what it is. A box of sweets." "That's right, but how did you know?" asked the girl. "Oh, just a wild guess," said the teacher.

The next gift was from the son of the liquor store-owner. The teacher held the package overhead, but it was leaking. She touched a drop off the leakage with her finger and put it to her tongue. "Is it wine?" she asked. "No," the boy replied, with some excitement. The teacher repeated the process, tasting a larger drop of the leakage. "Is it champagne?" she asked. "No," the boy replied, with more excitement. The teacher took one more big taste before declaring, "I give up, what is it?" With great glee, the boy replied, "It's a puppy!" SURPRISE!
