This recipe I dedicate to all beautiful women; remember all
women are beautiful!
Enjoy it - it is very healthy!
Cut two slices of whole-wheat or rye bread in half. Place
the four pieces on a toasting pan or baking sheet. Cover each piece with grated
cheddar cheese. Sprinkle with a combination of a few hulled sunflower seeds,
pumpkin seeds, and sesame seeds. Add a small amount of finely chopped green
onion. Toast until cheese melts and serve. Garnish with fresh lettuce,
cucumber, tomato, carrot and parsley.
A South African, Danie De Villiers has recently published
his first book ever, Ivan and the Magic Ring. It was published in eBook format and
it is a book that is recommended.
This is a story for children of all ages; even for adults
who still believe in the magic of being a child!
It is about Ivan, a little boy living with his grandparents.
They are not rich but they have love in their hearts and this love takes him on
a journey of discovering the beauty in life and nurturing the blessing to
forget and forgive those with ulterior, selfish motives.
Yes, it is all about
a magic ring, but don’t we all, not only children, want to believe in magic
once in our lives?
Take this journey of discovery with Ivan and let us all see
the beauty all around us! Maybe we will complete this journey as better and
wiser people!
Perfume is the most elusive of beauty resources, yet it is
one of the most impressive because one is aware of a woman’s perfume before one
sees her, before one knows her, and it can uncannily provide an aura, create an
image and a mood – and stir up emotions to a remarkable degree. You can argue
that perfume is not necessary, that it is expensive, that it is frivolous, and
that it no longer plays an important role in a modern woman’s attitude towards
looks. In addition, you would be wrong on all counts, except the expense. The
old thinking was to consider perfume as a means of sexual attraction, a tool of
seduction and so on. You can still use it for that, of course, but all depends
on the type of perfume. The heavy floral, the spicy, the sweet and the oriental
aromatics should be left for the couch, or perhaps sprayed on it.
Modern perfumes provide just the opposite effect; they are
fresh and lively, giving off an air of dash and efficiency, of joyful activity
and a youthful image.
Now this all may sound like rather flowery language but such
is the vernacular of perfume even when one is approaching it from a sensible
and liberated point of view.
Perfume choice
Perfumes can be grouped into categories according to content
and impression. You usually find you prefer one type to another. The floral
are by far the biggest group and can either by sharp single aromas (such as
rose, Lily of the valley, jasmine) or
harmonious blends that would include such aromatics as gardenia, jonquil,
narcissus, honeysuckle, lilac, carnation, orange blossom, violet, geranium.
They can be fresh or sweet, but after your thirties, it is best to stick to the
fresh notes, as the sweet ones can often give the aura of lavender and old
lace. The greens are fresh and woodsy, crisp and clean - perfect for the
country and outdoor woman. The modern blends are bright, sharp, and are usually favored by career and stylish women because they are pleasant and effective
without being overpowering, without making a too obvious statement of femininity.
The citrus scents are blends of lemon, orange and bergamot essences. They are
particularly sharp and fresh, perfect for warm climates as they are cooling and
refreshing. (But a word of warning, be carefulnot to wear a bergamot blend when sunbathing, as this can often cause an
allergic reaction; in fact it’s wise never to wear perfume on the beach) The oriental
scents are sweet, heavy, and quite exotic. They can imply glamor and
sophistication, but they can also be rather overpowering, and are apt to
underline any sultry image.
Perfume Strength
The lasting power and reception of perfume depends on its
strength. For an effect, it is not necessary to use concentrated perfume, which
is more expensive. When a perfume is diluted with alcohol (spirit), its
impression can be equally satisfactory. Extract of perfume contains between 15
and 20 per cent perfume combined with 80 to 85 per cent alcohol; this is the
truest expression of a scent and can last from two to six hours depending on
your body chemistry. Perfume de toilette
contains 12 to 15 per cent perfume, the balance is a combination of alcohol
with some water; it lasts from two to five hours. Eau de toilette has 5 to 12
per cent perfume, the rest a mixture of alcohol and water, but more of the
latter; it lasts two to four hours. Then finally, there is eau de Cologne,
which has 2 to 6 per cent perfume, a little alcohol and the balance is water;
lasting power is one to two hours. When selecting, think of strength in terms
of cost and use - at most times you probably do not want a strong, long lasting
impression. In this way, you can balance your budget and your image.
There is no doubt that looking good contributes enormously
to confidence and the self-assurance of knowing that your appearance belies
your years. Any woman who dismisses
beautifying routines as unnecessary vanity in this age of equality is really
only fooling herself. What is more, she is the one who is out of line, because
she is using the old standards and values for her judgement.
Attractiveness today is light years away from putting on a
pretty face to please a man. It is still a part of it, of course, and it’s the
honest women who admit it, but today’s brand of good looks have to do with
personal pride and self-respect, and are centered on the quality of your
physical attributes, not the dressing-up of them. Is your skin in the best of
condition? Is your hair shining and healthy? Is your body skin smooth and soft?
Are your hands and feet immaculate? That is what beauty is about now – and
these values embrace all age groups.
Pretending beauty does not matter is a delusion. Most women
would like to be as beautiful as possible, but too many think in terms of
standardized beauty, which is completely wrong. There are so many dimensions to
beauty, not the least being the special appeal of individuality that it is
nonsense to strive for a certain look. Being comfortable with whom you are and what
you look like is vital, but this does not mean that you should ignore the ways
and means to make the very best of your external image. Staying younger has a
lot to do with how you present your package to others -all right, it may only
be the outside wrapping, but it says a great deal about your inner feelings and
attitude. In addition, it is fundamental to first impression.

Water – be it from a shower, a sauna, a Jacuzzi or a
swimming pool is the ideal treatment for body therapy.
Water has many benefits: it is highly relaxing; it can tone
the skin and the muscles; and, in the form of steam, it can cleanse the pores
and rid the skin of impurities. One particular use of water for health and
beauty that has been employed since Greek and Roman times is hydrotherapy. This
entails using the pressure of water to break down the fatty deposits called
cellulite that form in the body’s connective tissue. Cellulite causes unsightly
puckering and lumpiness on the surface of the skin, usually around the upper
arms, buttocks and thighs.
Many health farms and solaria have special tubs called Jacuzzi designed for hydrotherapy, which work on simple principle of water
pressure. Jets situated around the side of the tub create a whirlpool effect,
forcing pressurized water against the body, which tones and stimulates. Some
swimming pools and saunas have a less sophisticated version - a machine fixed
to the poolside that pumps fixed jets of water. You attach yourself by a loose
belt and move those parts of the body that require treatment against the jets.
For more regular and cheaper treatment, you can make your
own home version of hydrotherapy by investing in a shower attachment for you
bath taps. Turn the taps on as full as possible - using warm water rather than
hot – and aim the shower at the areas you want to tone for about three minutes
at a time. Never spend more than 20 minutes giving yourself this water
treatment, to avoid drying out your skin, and always moisturize your body
thoroughly afterwards.
With a home shower, you can also create the ‘sauna effect’ of
a rapid change of temperature from hot to cold.
All you do is to run the hot shower over yourself, moving
from the feet upwards then switch the taps to icy coldness. This in turn
expands and contracts the skin’s capillaries, stimulating circulation.
Exercises
Your local swimming pool may be less glamorous than a health
farm, but is just as good a place to practice another type of water therapy
involving exercise. Any form of exercise in water is highly beneficial because
your muscles are forced to work against the pressure of the water. You can use
your sessions at the pool both for swimming and for exercise routines. Swimming
is an ideal way of firming up loose muscles, and is an excellent form of
aerobic exercise – it forces the heart to work faster, giving a boost to the cardiovascular system. The crawl is especially good for improving breathing,
while the breaststroke is a good remedy for flabby upper arms and thighs.
Isometrics in the bath is another effective form of water
therapy. Get into the habit of a bath exercise routine at least three times a
week. Start by breathing deeply while lying on your back, and push your abdomen
up and out against the water. Then slowly sit up, arms at your sides, pushing
against the water; this exercise is good for firming the waist and toning
flabby stomach muscles.
To strengthen your upper body and firm up you breasts, lie
back, arms at your sides. Then, slowly push your arms up, palms upwards, as if
you were trying to raise a weight. Now lie back and slowly lift your legs, with
your toes pointed, until they are at right angles to your body, holding onto
your feet as you do so. Repeat each exercise three times. In addition, you can
modify other sitting and lying exercises from any keep-fit routine to do in the
bath.
Massage
You can complete your water therapy programme with
underwater massage, which some beauty experts advocate as highly effective for
dissolving fat deposits. Lie in warm water, and first give your body a hard
all-over rubbing with the palms of your hands. A few drops of bath oil in the
water will make this easier. Then pay specific attention to flabby areas,
rolling and twisting the loose skin between fingers and thumbs, pinching as
hard as you can. Follow by massaging with your fingertips in a circular motion.
Finish with a cool shower and a brisk rub with a soft towel.
